Fun week

This last week has been crazy! Thursday was Julie's baby shower. I made the cookies I like to do for baby showers. Lil John was born March 30 at 7 lbs 14 oz. He's such a cutie. I didn't get a pic of him though... sigh. He was sleeping or feeding the whole time.

Here is a pic of Julie opening gifts. :)

Friday was Reuben and Esther's wedding social. It was lots of fun. I have to say though, that the silent auction is something I don't ever want to have to do again, lol. It was lots of work! Thankfully it did pretty well!

Here is a pic of me and dad... don't we look like a couple of cute preggers. I'm 4 months... not sure how far dad is...
And Reuben was thrown into the "slammer" along with his best man Marv. That was quite humerous. It went really well too!

Well, that was friday. Saturday we went to my friend Kathy and Terry's social at La Bar. That was fun too, but too much for one weekend I have to say. I was exhausted.

Yesturday I went to the thrift store and managed to get two pairs of maternity shorts for $1.50. We also took away all our recycling. Than I managed to clean the house and spring clean the entrance (which took longer than expected) as well as clean the inside windows. Then today I took the pressure washer to the house. I washed the front door (with my cloths... pressure washer not good enough for me, lol) and got the exterior windows clean for the east side of the house (the computer room, and the windows upstairs). Chuck did the pressure washing on the east side of the house on the second floor by standing on the roof... and cleaned the gutters which was VERY needed. I also cleaned the interior and exterior of the car (looks SO nice and clean now), and the outside of the truck too. I love that lil pressure washer! Then I worked on the farm books yet again, and am all caught up... once again, lol. I feel so proud of myself!

Anyway, I don't know what to do tomorrow... unless I start organizing the craft supplies to go into the workshop soon. Or work on pictures. Till later!

Ultrasound

So, today was my ultrasound. I only drank 16 oz water 1 1/2 hours before instead of the 32 they tell you to drink (I did that in September and felt like I was dying I had to go so bad, lol). I still had to go real bad!

The doctor said everything was where it was supposed to be, the placenta is nicely out of the way, everything is good. The baby was positioned just like I thought too... head down, legs straight up. Baby didn't want to cooperate with the doctor either... constantly wiggling around, moving and shifting... we didn't get to see a profile of baby's face due to him/her not wanting to move into the right position. It was kind of funny.

Crazy week~again

Yesturday we took pics at Barkman Park in Steinbach. I think they turned out really well. Here are 3 of 14. Roxy, my sis, took them.

I can hardly believe everything I've been getting done this last week. Thursday we had our hair appointments. I didn't initially like my new cut, mostly because it's different and my hair has been the same for the last 6 or 7 years. Boring, I know. But now I like it. Then we had another farm meeting that day too. Friday we had the Klassen Financial guy come down to take care of life insurance for me through the farm. I find it so weird that the farm was requested by FCC to take out life insurance on me. I got our personal budget done too. It took me a lot longer than I was expecting, but I did a bunch of extra things with it. I want to find what we are actually spending in each category on average every month, instead of just having a "budget" to follow.

Saturday I baked 3 dozen apple cinnamon muffins. 2 were for church as I was to bring some of the snacks, and 1 dozen was for us. Well, only 1 dozen was eaten at church, there were many left over snacks apparently. I gave that dozen to Reuben and Esther.

Today we had an appointment with the accountant regarding our GST return financials. Since I've been doing the farm books on the computer, I am the one to go to that meeting. We want to make sure I'm entering the GST in proper, so that next quarter will just require me sending a bit of info to them electronically. When we got home I was exhausted... I actually took a nap. Afterwards I made chocolate chip cookies, and I spring cleaned the bathrooms again. Like I thought, it only took about 1/2 hour instead of the 2 or 3 it took a month ago. So, tomorrow cleaning will just consist of doing the floors, including the mopping. I can easily get that done before my ultrasound appointment.

The rest of this week is going to be crazy. The major things happening are my ultrasound tomorrow and 12:15 (yippee, ultrasound!!), the dairy meeting on Wednesday for 5 hours, a baby shower to go to on Thursday evening, Friday is my brothers wedding social at Friedensfeld (which we will be at almost all day setting up everything), and Saturday is my friends Kathy and Terry's social at La Bar. Crazy fun!

So, I'm hoping to get the ultrasound pics so I can post them. Till tomorrow... or whenever I decide to next post!

Another Busy Week

I can hardly believe how busy I've been lately. My little day planner is full, and keeps filling up every day. This is the time of year a number of different Dairy meetings occur, it's getting close to seeding, the weather is nice so many other things start happening and there is this deep longing to get out of the house whenever we get the chance, there's the spring cleaning, there's weddings and socials and vacations and so on. It just keeps on coming!

Friday the 11th we got together with some friends for his birthday! It was so much fun! We haven't been able to get together for so long, as we've been busy and they've been busy. We want to see their house that they are building now. I would love to help them out too, although that may be difficult considering my being pregnant. There isn't a whole lot I can do besides cleaning up and such.

We also managed to clean up our vacation plans. We got another quote from the travel agent, and were able to book a trip to the Dominican for $2300 approximately for the two of us! We had a budget of $3000, so we're under! Yippee! And with the income tax return we got, we don't have to spend too much into this!

I've been visiting the chiropracter on a regular basis, and got a bunch of stretches and ball strength training exercises from him. So, not only am I doing these daily, I've also gotten more into an exercise routine. Writing down my goals for the day make it much easier for me to keep.

I created a baby budget. I figured out our current budget, worked out how much it would cost approximately on a monthly basis to provide for a baby, how much we may get from the government, and what we could cut back on in our current budget to make room for baby budget. I also worked through the larger one time costs (maternity clothes, nursery items, etc) that we'd need to get, what I thought they would cost, and if I could make them or not. I'm pretty happy with it. Monday I cleaned house again, and this time I spring cleaned the kitchen. So glad that is done! I don't care much for moving the stove. The fridge is easier to move and clean under and behind. I'm also all caught up on the farm books now, at least till the 15th of April. I have only a couple of things to enter, which will be done tomorrow in probably about a 1/2 hour.

Yesturday two of my friends came to visit! It was great! I haven't seen Brandy in years, and Lisa brought her little one with. I really want to try to get a bunch of people over and have a bonfire or wiener roast or something, and the kids could play outside with the dogs and cats. I don't know when I'll find the time to do it though!

Yesturday I also went maternity clothes shopping. I still can't believe how much I bought! Lena went shopping with me, and it's a good thing she did! I actually bought stuff, lol. I got a dress, pair of jeans, pair of dark brown slacks, and a two-in-one tank all at Thyme maternity, and then got a t-shirt with a cute black and white pattern, and a three-quarter length shirt from Walmart. These two shirts cost me $25. The other stuff all cost $205... woah. But, at least now I have some nice stuff.

Anyway, that's what I have to write for now. That is my week in a nutshell. This next week is also gonna be a doozy. Anyone have any ideas for what I should do for my haircut tomorrow?

Baby Bump

My little one really shocked me yesturday! We went to a farm seminar on silaging, and partway through I had to lean forward for some reason and felt quite the kick right near my belly button! I told Chuck and he was all "awwww" and stuff. Later when shopping I felt movement again... not really a kick but movement. Today I got more kicks and movement, none as "jarring" as that kick yesturday, but yeah! I also got a kick on Monday when I sat on the floor to play Wii at Candice and Calvin's. I'm almost sure I've been feeling the baby at other times, but only now is it obvious that it's the baby and not just some weird gastrointestinal movement or something!

Today I want to do more farmbooks, and then relax. Yup. I love relaxing lately! We went for a walk today as we delivered more letters to places for donating to RJ's and Esther's social. Walking was great. I want to do more walking.

We're still not sure what to do for our trip. We're leaning toward a road trip now. Sigh.

Later everyone!

Work Work Work

Lots of stuff happening this week... and the past week as well.

Friday our computer went on the fritz. I was trying to work on the farm 2008 financials (I've done a temporary year end on 2007 till I'm sure I don't need to work on it anymore... which is pretty much now already) and the computer would go through a shut down process without me telling it to. Weird. After awhile, Chuck just unplugged it. He later tried to start it up again, and just plugging it in caused the fan to start running... but the power button wouldn't work and the computer didn't seem to be starting up. We brought it in and found out the motherboard and processor were fried. It's been around for 4 years now... so I guess it makes sense. We got a new tower, with 4x the memory and 2x the speed of the old one. We got to keep our old hard drive too. It also has a DVD writer which our other one didn't have. And we got a fire wire and cable right away as well. Total cost: just under $600. To just fix the motherboard (with labor fees) would have been $450-$500. I think it is well worth it. And we kept all our info. I started cleaning up our documents again today. I want to put more of our pics on a CD, then when there's enough of them, re-put them all onto a DVD so we have duplicate copies right away.

Throughout the week I've managed to clean the vertical blinds, the roller blinds, the garbage cans, bake apple crisp, etc. My mom had a Partylite party on Friday and I ordered something for my 3-wick candle (hexagon 3wick/tealight holder), along with 3 dozen tealights for a total of $35 (the three wick holder was $60 normal, and the tealights were on sale from $10/doz to $8 for all three... and I had a $50 for $10 coupon from mom booking at my party). I already cleaned up the spot for that 3-wick...

Today I cleaned house again like normal, but this time I did extra vacuuming: behind and under the couch, moving any smaller furniture to get underneath, taking the small attachment to the areas right along the walls, cleaning the baseboards, cleaning the closets (this didn't include just vacuuming, but organizing and dusting as well), and then I also remembered to dust above the fridge and the two really high "shelves" in my kitchen so I don't have to worry about them next week. Whew. Hauling that vacuum around is tiring. I also did laundry... again... and made brownies for Chuck. I printed up a good copy of my cleaning schedule and put it up in my cleaning closet. It has a mini calendar on it for the next 12 months.

That's all for now. Maybe... just maybe.... I'll clean my fridge tomorrow. I have to say, I dread that job.

Mural Complete!

I'm done my mural! I'm just gonna post the one pic here, as there is a lot more detail in my Gamer Gal blog which you can access to the left of this blog. I had to blend two pics to get everything on one as it's a big wall and not a big enough room! For perspective, the top of Zelda's head is about 5 1/2 - 6 feet from the floor (she's not that tall, but anyway), and the top of Ganondorf's head... probably closer to 6 1/2 to 7 feet. I had to stretch on tiptoes with my arm all the way up to paint the top of his head.

So that's that! If you want to see individual pics of each character, go to my Gamer Gal site. Now I have to start turning this into a baby room. Maybe I'll enjoy it for a month first... :)

Time flies

Wow, today just flew by. We went to tour two farms to get ideas for our barn as we want to eventually change the parlor system as herding the animals in 5 at a time takes a long time... and extra labour. If we get a coralling system it will diminish time by probably half, especially if we double the size of our parlor. Only way to do that is build... that will wait a few years. I was tired when I got home at 3:30pm so I didn't do anything and it's 7 already. Oops

Sunday Julie had her baby! A little boy. They named him John Edward (not sure of the spelling) and I he was over 7 lbs (don't remember the oz). I haven't seen him yet, but was told he's a little cutie!

Yesturday I did a pile of work. I cleaned the house and did all the laundry, and the spring cleaning bit I did was all the dusting... everything... under books and dvds, tv, computer, everything. I also flipped the mattress and washed the pillows and comforter. More on that later... I made banana muffins... which also has a funny story...lol. I couldn't find the baking powder in the recipe. I knew it was there, but I couldn't find it. So, I didn't put it in. They turned out so much flatter than normal (1/2 the size) and so I checked the recipe again, and there it was. Chuck still likes them though. Lol. Good with ice cream. I had a chiropractic appointment at 3 and with that I picked up my partylite (so yeah, for all who ordered, it's in now!). I put away my candles (two items didn't come in... one of mine and one of my mother-in-law's). I couldn't seperate the order out according to who ordered what because I didn't have the slips with it... they came today... so I did that this morning before the tours. I also worked on my mural yesturday... I thought I was done till this morning when I noticed two little details I forgot which will take all of 20minutes to do. Then I'll post pics! Yippee! I wiped down all the walls in that room today as they needed it (hand prints from painting and all that).

Ah yes... the story with the bedding. We bought this bedding in October. Paid $200 for it which was a lot to me, even though it was a bed in a bag and absolutely lovely. Well, I usually wash the comforter twice a year, so I threw it in the wash as the directions said... and it ripped. It was on the underside near the foot of the bed, so I was unhappy but not too upset as I can sew it up, which I did when it finally dried. When we put it on the bed however, we saw to our dismay that the dark brown color bled not only into the white, but badly into the backside of the blanket (that itself wasn't as much of a problem for me as the white). Then the dark brown also had funny white running lines in it. I tried to wash them out again to no avail. Either it's soap (which didn't make sense as I didn't add too much to begin with) or it's where the color came from. Sigh. That's when I got upset. Chuck called the company we bought from and they said to bring it all back with the reciept and we'd get a Home Outfitters card with that credit on it. Which is so nice. So, we're back to our old bedding. I now need to sew the one seam shut. What bothers me is that I REALLY liked this set. Really. They don't sell it anymore. Now we need to find something else. If it was just the rip (ok... the three rips), or just the color on the backside, I'd just say let's leave it. It's just so many things went wrong all at once.

Anyway, I've gotta go make food. Then I want to finish the mural... yippee! :)
