It came... and went

I can hardly believe it. My little sister is now a married woman. Where did the time go? I don't know what to think!  Sis, I wish so many blessings onto your marriage.  Sure, we've had some rough times, and we've gotten into fights, but I love you despite it all, and I'm so blessed to have you as my sister.

I don't really know what to type... so I'll just put up a bunch of pics.

They had praise and worship... and since both bride and groom love music, they contributed to the band!  It was awesome!

 Pics of my lil man.
 and of my lil girl
Here are two of the three flower girls.  Aren't they cute?  I'm so happy that the dresses turned out... they were a bit big initially but taking something in is a bit easier than I thought.
Cutting the cake.  I love that they chose Buzz and Tink as their cake topper.  It was difficult getting them to stay on top of the cake, however... Tink fell twice, taking Buzz with her on her second descent.

Beautiful Bride.  I'm a bit jealous.
I loved her flowers, so I had some fun with the camera and shots of the head table.  I think they turned out nicely.

That's all for now, folks.  I'm feeling a bit tired.  It's been a long weekend.  The wedding was great (although we had some cranky kids to deal with... none of them got naps, poor things).  I just wish I hadn't missed so much of it on account of my son wanting to eat at the most inopportune times.  I would have pumped, but I broke the pump a while ago... it fell and cracked.  Sigh.  I missed the cake cutting... thankfully my husband got some pics.  I really wanted to be there for the toasts, and thought they were starting so I ran out from where I was just starting to feed my son, only to find out that they were having speeches from the maid of honor and best man, then open mike, then toasts.  Sigh.  Rushed back to feed him right after the toasts (took longer than I thought and I could hear him not being too happy about it from where my sis in law was babysitting them in another room)... then when I was just about done, my husband shows up to say that I missed the cake cutting.  I LOVE the cake cutting.  It is one of my favorite parts (I wasn't lucky enough to have a cake at my wedding... sigh).  Plus, I made the cake, so I really wanted to see their reaction to it.  Unfortunately, my son took over.  I could have cried.  I know I did cry when I had to miss the vows due to my son's hunger.  My sis in law missed them too, due to her son being super cranky.  Ah... kids.  We love them anyway.

Then I got a bit of a surprise on Sunday... found out it was our Church's Gateway to Christmas program.  I thought it was the next Sunday for some reason.  And I was supposed to sing.  So, instead of a relax day at home we had to rush out to make practice (I had only listened to my song, I hadn't actually practiced it yet, so I did so in the vehicle on the way).  It was fun, and I was glad to find a dress that fit me (from before our wedding... it was a bit big on me then, but it fits me nice now... although I could still stand to lose a little bit in the tummy to make it fit a bit nicer).  I enjoyed the program, and am so grateful to my dad for watching Bram and my sis in law for watching M during most of the service.

We could sure use some prayer right now.  My father in law is in the hospital with an infection in his knee.  He had a knee replacement surgery a week ago and apparently it got infected.  So, they are debating cutting into him again or what.  He is not happy about all of this (don't blame him, either).  Not only that, but since he is unable to work, absolutely everything electronic in our barn seems to be going on us.  My husband has had emergency after emergency with things breaking down.  We currently have no water.  Our water pump motor completely seized... they figure it needs to be replaced.  And our animals have not been producing as much as necessary either.  So these problems don't help, cause they require money we aren't getting due to lack of milk.  Sigh.  Plus, I have added responsibility on me since I am now required to do all the paperwork, and never had a talk with dad prior to his surgery about what my new responsibilities are.  I wanted to... I tried to... but he was always to busy to.  So, now that I'm super busy, he wants to.  And it will have to be at the hospital since he's gonna need to stay there for awhile now.  I'm not thrilled.

Ah well.  Some things cannot be helped.

That said, I've been undergoing a spiritual battle lately.  I don't know who to talk to about it... or how.  I just need help.

Anyway, thanks for reading all my ramblings.  Sorry it's been so long... and for not reading any of your blogs.  I really should do that again.  Maybe later this week, when I have a bit more time.  As for now, my daughter is hailing me from her bedroom, so I should go.  Thanks, and I hope everyone had a great weekend.  :)

Costume Party

On Friday, my sister and her fiance had a costume party fundraiser for their wedding. It was a blast!

I decided I wanted to make our costumes, and I wanted our family to go 'together' as something.  My husband was vouching for Star Wars, and while it would be fine to have me as Leia and him as Han Solo... I was NOT about to attempt making ewok costumes for the kiddos.  Or even R2D2... neither of the kids would like those.

So, I opted for something... more fun.  At least to me...

Meet, the Toadstool Family!
Yup, Mario, Princess Toadstool, Toad and Toadette!  We made quite the family photo!

It was a lot of fun... dancing, watching the kiddos dance in their costumes, guessing who people were, eating good food... a great time!

Here is Mario... he's in the modern world, looking at his text from Toad telling him his princess is in another castle...

I never really did take the opportunity to look at the silent auction prizes, but there was a LOT there!  It looked great!

 Where's Waldo?

I'm not including too many pictures of other people, but I HAD to post this one of my cousins.  I think it is hilarious!  I posted more photos on Facebook of other costumes at the party (there were some great ones!).

We ended up winning a few prizes... best boy (although only one other boy under 12 dressed up at all), best girl, and best couple.  SO glad we didn't win best adult male and best adult female as well... that would have been awkward...
Ok, that one pic in the collage above with me holding Bram... I was trying to mimic the thing on Super Smash Brawl... where Peach pulls out Toad as her shield.  I mean, look at him!  Who on earth could hurt someone that cute!  (that said, if someone did, they would feel the wrath of Mama Bear Peach... watch out, hooligans!).

I think my sewing machine deserves a bit of a break!  Especially after sewing and stitch ripping and resewing my dress.  Sheesh... you think patterns would be a little more accurate on their sizing!

Can you believe I consented to sew the girls flower girl dresses for the wedding?  Oh boy... sorry sewing machine, your break will be short lived.

What a Week!

This week has been wonderful... crazy in many ways, but wonderful.

Firstly, I finally got some of my work done in the house... see my previous post for details. We also had the Farm Management group head guy down to go over our farm numbers, using my bookkeeping as the basis for what is happening on the farm. It's been interesting, inputting all that data onto the AgExpert program, but it is worth it. Now to learn some of the other ins and outs of the program and familiarize myself with the payroll section, the printable cheques, and the budgeting area. Oh, and apparently, 'word on the street' is that my books are impeccable... I think that's the word that was used... haha. It feels really good to know that I'm doing something right!

Another thing that happened this week... my sister-in-law got her house! She's been renting a place nearby that had mould issues, and needed to find a place for herself (she was looking into renting somewhere else, but this area is known for rental places not being in very good shape most of the time...). It's a nice place, and we'll be helping her move this next weekend.

More news, yesterday I was dress shopping. A friend of mine is getting married later this year, and she asked me to be a bridesmaid! I'm so honored! I've never been a bridesmaid, and I'm looking forward to helping her out with anything she needs help with (like wedding favors, invites, anything...) and I LOVE her other bridesmaids! We all ordered our dresses already (yup... her two sisters came out from the province over and loved the dress she had picked, both ordered it... I went yesterday with the other two bridesmaids and we all ended up loving the dress on us and got it... it's gorgeous... and I forgot my camera so I don't have pics. Shoot). The color? Eggplant (gorgeous!)!

I did some more shopping on Thursday... again at Liquidation world. My sis called me up to say they just got a bunch of clothes in and I had to come check it out. I need clothes this summer, as my wardrobe last year was maternity, and my previous year's stuff needs... well... a lot of it has seemingly shrunk. Seriously. It's like two inches of length disappeared off these shirts. I know I buy cheap clothes, but really! Anyway, off I went. They had everything! I got 10 baby items... 6 for my munchkin, and 4 for gifts for a few people expecting babies this summer. I also got myself a dress, a pair of jeans, a t-shirt jacket type button up, and 3 other shirts for a grand total of $84 after tax. I'm thrilled! The following pic is of items I bought for my baby. Sorry, no pics of the clothes for myself yet. They are designer labels apparently though! Nice stuff!

Anyway, here are a few pics of my lil one. This is my SIL holding my baby... apparently munchkin loved sticking her feet in her face!

Next is my lil girl playing with the ducky she got from her grandparents (my hubby's folks)... it quacks. Although, I think she just likes how it feels.

Here she is on hands and... toes. Yup. Toes. She's getting closer and closer to crawling.

Oh, and we're getting her started early... hahaha

Butt up? Trying to crawl yet again. She's on hands and knees quite often. It's so cute!

Toes are fun!

DONE - Oh How I Love Thee!

Such a wonderful word!

I have now completed two projects. The first, the bannister, is now complete! I worked on it till 11:30 last night, committed to finishing that day. Now to wait for that rug to go in...

The other project that is finished is the family wedding pic on my husband's side. I have a post on it here. Sorry, I don't feel like reloading them... they are massive.

Now to finish a few other projects... but first, I think I'll take a well-deserved break!

A Wedding and a Nursery

So, last weekend was my brother's wedding. He is now officially married! Wow...

Their wedding was so pretty. I loved the decor, and Esther was gorgeous. RJ was pretty dapper looking himself! I think he should wear a suit more often! Their little Avae was so cute too in her lil polka dot dress. She was brought down the aisle in a cute lil red wagon.

I've been so tired lately. I got weighed in at my last prenatal checkup and didn't gain a thing in the last two weeks... so I'm still only 9lbs over my pre-pregnancy weight... at 30 weeks pregnant. Doctor says I just need to make sure I'm "nibbling" all day to get nutrition to the baby... and myself. Perhaps that's why I've been so tired lately. Yesturday I wanted an egg mcmuffin so badly... but it was already lunch, lol. So, no egg mcmuffin for me... instead we made our own at home with English muffins, bacon, egg, red pepper, and cheese. Mmmm.

I'm hoping to fix my clouds on the ceiling today... I don't really like them, although I love the colors of the wall and ceiling. I'm scared to do the sponging technique I wanted to do in there as I know it will change the wall color so much. Sigh. Oh why can't I make up my mind? Oh, but I did see a cute baby bedding set at the Bay. It will cost about$150 however for the bumpers, comforter, sheet, and dust ruffle. You can see a pic of it here.

Well, that's all for now. We'll see where this next week takes me.

Weekend

What a weekend it has been. We went camping from Friday to Sunday and it was so nice. I love camping. We took over the site from Chuck's parents who were there Wednesday to Friday. It rained a lot on Friday, so we spent most of our time in the camper reading and just being together.

We went on lots of walks and bike rides. There is a ranch nearby for horseback riding that is really nice. We love to visit it whenever we camp here. We're thinking of actually going on one of their pack trails one time, it will just have to wait awhile since I can't go while pregnant.

Chuck took me on a date while we were here. He took me to the restaurant, I believe it's called Popeye's, and got pizza and popcorn chicken. We got one of the milkshakes from the ice cream corner around the corner and decided to try something different. Chocolate peanut butter ice cream, with mini chocolate peanut butter cups in it, mixed with chocolate milk and whipped cream on top. It was SOO good! We then went for a walk together and just talked about random things. It's so nice to go for walks again. We also played a game of checkers, and I had my very first raw cherry. Yeah, sounds silly, but I always hated cherries as the only ones I'd ever had were in pie, canned, Bing cherries in juice, candied... you get the idea. Raw cherries are pretty good!

Sunday was a wedding shower for Laurel. It was fun! There was one game where we, the group, got to see the questions Laurel's sister was going to ask her, and the answers her fiance had already given. If she said the same answer as he did, the one side of the room would toss her chocolate kisses. If she said something else, the side of the room I was on chucked lifesavers at her. It was hilarious! So much fun! I'd love to do that for another shower!

Anyway, today has been not so great for me. I woke up feeling sick to my stomach, and it's still not getting any better. Probably mostly heartburn... although I've never had it like this so I don't really know. All I wanted to do is sleep today, but I have so much to do. Then it started raining, which means my really long overgrown lawn (which only took a week to get to this state) will have to wait for cutting. Also, the roof in my workshop is leaking right by the door. I worked at it for 45minutes, trying to sop up the water and find some way to put containers down to catch it, but there is nowhere to put them as it's along the wall, right by the door between the house and workshop. If I want to stem the tide, I need to leave the door open, and then I hear the water, and worry the container will tip (because it's a sliding door, so NOT a flat surface). It splashes everywhere. The one box is soaked, the tools (thankfully not electric ones) are soaked, the floor had puddles I tried to sop up... it's a mess. I had a real good cry over it, not that it helped any, but it released the sadness and upset I've been feeling over a good many other things too, which I will not discuss. Anyway, it's slowed now that the rain has stopped, and we have a guy on the roof trying a quick fix as it's supposed to be a rainy week. Hopefully it will work. If not, well...

I am happy about one thing though. Chuck took down the doors and trim in the baby room, as well as the little bit of rug that remained in the closet. All I have to do is tape over my mural and it's ready for primer. I need to purchase it first however!

So, things are getting done, slowly but surely. Now I want to go take a nap.

Fun week

This last week has been crazy! Thursday was Julie's baby shower. I made the cookies I like to do for baby showers. Lil John was born March 30 at 7 lbs 14 oz. He's such a cutie. I didn't get a pic of him though... sigh. He was sleeping or feeding the whole time.

Here is a pic of Julie opening gifts. :)

Friday was Reuben and Esther's wedding social. It was lots of fun. I have to say though, that the silent auction is something I don't ever want to have to do again, lol. It was lots of work! Thankfully it did pretty well!

Here is a pic of me and dad... don't we look like a couple of cute preggers. I'm 4 months... not sure how far dad is...
And Reuben was thrown into the "slammer" along with his best man Marv. That was quite humerous. It went really well too!

Well, that was friday. Saturday we went to my friend Kathy and Terry's social at La Bar. That was fun too, but too much for one weekend I have to say. I was exhausted.

Yesturday I went to the thrift store and managed to get two pairs of maternity shorts for $1.50. We also took away all our recycling. Than I managed to clean the house and spring clean the entrance (which took longer than expected) as well as clean the inside windows. Then today I took the pressure washer to the house. I washed the front door (with my cloths... pressure washer not good enough for me, lol) and got the exterior windows clean for the east side of the house (the computer room, and the windows upstairs). Chuck did the pressure washing on the east side of the house on the second floor by standing on the roof... and cleaned the gutters which was VERY needed. I also cleaned the interior and exterior of the car (looks SO nice and clean now), and the outside of the truck too. I love that lil pressure washer! Then I worked on the farm books yet again, and am all caught up... once again, lol. I feel so proud of myself!

Anyway, I don't know what to do tomorrow... unless I start organizing the craft supplies to go into the workshop soon. Or work on pictures. Till later!
