This week has been pretty crazy. First with all the wonderful gatherings (which I was super excited for! I love gatherings), then with all the work I've been trying to get done.
Last week wednesday we picked up mom-&-dad-in-law from the airport. They went to Punta Cana in the Dominican, and by the sounds of things had a great trip aside from all the walking they had to do (when you have problems with your knees, any walking at all can be problematic). They told us then already that we wouldn't be having any gatherings for Easter, as mom was too tired, and to be honest, I don't blame her one bit! Friday we went to one of the big family gatherings on my side, and had a great time. They brought the Wii and the kids played a bit before some of the adults took over to play a game of golf. It was fun to watch. And of course, the food was great. I made a sour cream coffee cake the day before to bring. Saturday Chuck was working again. We were so glad he got the evening off on Friday. Sunday was another gathering on my side of the family for lunch, then at my parents for supper. Chuck and Reuben weren't there however, as both needed to work. But they still got food!
Monday... I can't remember monday. What did I do? Tuesday I started spring cleaning. All the regular weekly house cleaning was done, I made a "spring cleaning" schedule that will be done on a monthly basis (so it will never be as hard again), and then laundry. I spring cleaned both bathrooms and mopped. Crazy... took an extra 3 hours from normal. Won't take as long next month though. :)
Wednesday I baked a whole lot for the bake sale on Thursday. Took 4 1/2 hours to make 4 1/2 dozen brown buns (a new recipe mom gave me... delish!) and 7 1/4 dozen chocolate chip cookies. I brought 3 doz of the buns and 6 doz of the cookies to the sale on Thursday and made $21, with which I bought the tickets for Reuben's and Esther's social right away. Wednesday I also managed to exercise again and I got all the info for the farm 2007 papers in AgExpert. Done. All I have left for that is finalizing the end of year (fixing anything that causes problems of course), and then I can start inputting info for '08. SO happy. Thursday I also had a chiropractic appointment, cleaned a bit in mom's house while waiting for my appointment, and did a bit more painting on my mural. It's so close to finished now. Today so far we had the head guy for the dairy group down to get our financials for 2007 and calving/milk records so they can get prepped for the next dairy meeting. That took 2 hours... and finding some of that info on AgExpert can be difficult. Lots of it was easy, but getting the start of year inventories... not so. I had to look up my old end 2006 files to find them. Good thing I'm organized!!!
Today I have loads I want to do as well... starting with my mural. I want to finish today. Don't know if that will happen... I may need one more day, but I'm close... so close. Then I can post pics! I also want to finalize agexpert '07... and start on '08. Again, not sure if that will happen. Depends if I feel like a nap, lol. I've been having a constant headache for the last 2 weeks. And my lower back didn't like me cleaning the underside of the toilet tanks on tuesday. Well, at least they aren't black anymore. I dare you to check yours! Blech.
So, I also just realized (ok, not "just" realized, but anywho) that today would have been my due date for the baby I lost in September. It's funny, really, but I'm not at all upset. Could be because I'm pregnant again with a different baby... but I think it's something more. I think it's God. He's helped me through it all, and I don't have any negative feelings about that anymore. Not at all. It's wonderful to think about. :)
Well, that's been my week in a nutshell. Thank you for reading :). Next week I'll be tackling 2008 farm books, hopefully will be done the mural, and I want to do a bit more spring cleaning... basically all the extra dusting and flipping the mattress and thouroughly washing the pillows and such. Yeah. I think I may clean the fridge, the garbage cans (they almost always need a good rinse), and the window treatments as well. We'll see how energetic I'm feeling. ;)
