#18: One of 5 dairy meetings

This is one part of item #18 in my 101 in 1001 list.

I went to a dairy meeting with Chuck in Saint Claude. It included a tour of a Dairy Museum which I found quite interesting. The butter churns, milk/cream seperators, model of the largest dairy in 1930's, pics of farms in around the area, etc, all very interesting. The men working there had lots to say, one used to work in a butter "mill", and showed me the pasteurizer and the way they cleaned it, how it worked, etc. Also the huge butter churn in there, and how they packaged the butter in boxes. It was quite interesting! I'd suggest going if you are ever in the area. The farm tour was also nice. It's great to see other farms and how they do things in their own barns, their feeding systems, etc. Then the meeting went on to talk about averages in different variable and fixed expenses, reasons some had really good or bad numbers, and so on. The conversation was great, and it's nice that I can actually join in on some now. The farmers are all very informative with so much to tell you. I love it.
