Reno Mayhem!

So, I've been going crazy with the casings and baseboards since the rug went in on Friday last week. It looks SO GOOD to be finished. That hall hasn't had baseboard/trim in it since... well... at least 4 years... and the stuff that was in there looked like my livingroom, lol. The rug doesn't go all the way down the hall, just the portion that has the doors, so all the casings are done now for sure (except the ones I want to put around the clouds, but I NEED help with those). Here's a pic of the hall (it's a little blurry). And yes... I did cut the boards myself. I had Chuck's help nailing them in as it's difficult balancing the board, the level, and the nailer while on a stepstool, not to mention having to get down periodically to raise the psi (yeah... we still haven't figured out how to "set" the psi on this thing so it turns on automatically... I think I need to find the manual).

Don't you love this rug? I LOVE this rug! And it cleans so easily! You can FEEL that the brushes in the vaccum are doing what they are supposed to.

Here's the mural again... plastic down. I think it'll be great like this later on when the kid is older, but I still feel the need to cover it. Oh and the lamp? My parents got this set for us for Christmas and we had nowhere to put it (a pitty especially since they are so pretty... but they are perfect in the room). So I'm using the large and tiny one in here, and the two others can either go in our bedroom or stay in the spare room for company.

Here's a view of the "door wall". Why didn't I shut the door? I just finished touching up the paint on the frame. Didn't want it to stick.

So now all I have left to do is the ceiling casing, closet stuffs, and the wall panels. Then the basics for the room are complete. The crib is up already too. And I'm working on a few decorations. We decided we're sticking with white furniture... it's cheaper and I can always paint it later for fun! (smile). Where the hall is concerned, we need to wait for the rail materials to come in, stain and paint them, put them up, and then get the rug in before doing the baseboards... 4 pieces total (which are all painted). Yippee!

So now I'm focussing on what I need to get before baby's arrival... basically a carseat (I want a travel system right away as it saves money in the long run), a diaper bag (I'm having such trouble finding something I like... which is weird as I'm not picky... most seem real 'cheap' to me like they won't last), and then whatever I need to take to the hospital. I'd like to also get the changetable/dresser combo and glider but if we don't before baby's arrival, that's not too bad. I can throw a chair that I have (not a rocker, not the best for feeding, but it'll work) in the nursery if I need to. As for the changetable/dresser... I don't think I want to be changing diapers on the floor... I can, but I find spending time on the floor rather uncomfortable (smile). Then there's all those cute lil organizing ideas (I think I really want a shoe/sock organizer that goes over the closet door that would work for hats, socks, and booties).

I can't wait to post pics of the finished room! I'm hoping it won't be too much longer! I'm already almost 35 weeks!

it looks great Sabrina! Oh BTW sorry for being so distant the other day... it was a hard day and I wasn't in the most of talkative moods.
