This is a step off the normal path for me... really.
I heard today that Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize.
I am disappointed.
I don't usually keep track of any of this stuff. Really. Politics don't really interest me, especially those in other nations... there's enough drama up here to keep me busy enough. But to hear that this Nobel Peace Prize went to Obama... I'm shocked. I find it slightly absurd.
I've seen much in the last few weeks about the praises of Obama. Children singing Obama's praises to "Jesus Loves the Little Children" being one of the things that literally made me want to hurl, among many others. Meanwhile, I haven't heard of anything that Obama has actually done that is worth all this praise. You'd think that sort of thing would make it's way up here, since we are neighbors to the USA and all that. Sure, he's charismatic, and that seems to get people going so much lately. Trudeau was charismatic too... the people loved him... until they saw what was actually happening (fuel prices and crazy increases in taxes, anyone?). I don't see many people in my area liking him much anymore. Anyway... off topic... where was I?
Basically, there are a lot of things Obama stands for that I do not. Many things that go against every fiber of my being (like abortion for one... we'll leave it at that) are things that he seems to be 'for'. There are enough problems up here with the liberality of things (absolutely no restrictions/laws regarding abortion... to keep with our example) that don't need to be happening to our neighbors. I wish someone at least would learn from Canada's mistakes (although Canada didn't exactly learn from the mistakes of other countries in regards to other things... but that's another topic).
In all, I'm just shocked and disappointed by the announcement of the Nobel Peace Prize winner. I believe it was really too soon to be putting the new president into that placement. Really. Many may disagree with me... that's OK. This is my honest opinion. You can have yours. I won't hate you for it... after all, many people obviously voted for him to receive that honour, right? I still think it was mostly because of timing (didn't the voting end only a few weeks after his inauguration? He would have been on the forefront of many thoughts at that time). Anyway... just my opinion.
For all my followers, thanks for putting up with my lack of posting anything but my project 365 stuff over the last while. I must say, things have been busy, and until next weekend is over I feel I will still be super busy (I'm part of a wedding that is next weekend), so bear with me... and thanks for bearing with me. :) My daughter is being super cuddly today, and I really want to bundle us up to go for a short walk before her nap, so that's all for now, folks!
Have a great Friday, everyone!

I am so out of the political loop it isn't funny. I try never to comment either way:)
Will be waiting for you to come back:) Miss seeing your posts!
It is absolutely disgusting! The people in this nation have gone absolutely wacky.
I don't support his anti-Christian policies either.
Meh. I like Obama, but I was definitely shocked to see him win such a prestigious award when he really hasn't done anything to deserve it. I suppose there's controversy every time a Nobel Peace Prize is awarded, but I can't help but wonder who else was in the running! (Don't we have to wait 50 years or something absurd to find out? Boooo!)
