Last week went really well with my 'to do' list. The only thing I did not accomplish was making a kitchen curtain... because I had no fabric with which to make it (and I did look... couldn't find what I wanted). So, that will head onto next month's list (I don't wish to bother with it when focusing on a different room).
On to the challenge!
The challenge for January 10-16 is to clean the bathroom registers. Also, if there is anything you've been neglecting in the bathroom(s) that needs to be done, this is the week to do it. Got a fan that needs cleaning? Do it! Need to scrub that tub? You'll feel so much better when it's done. Have a shelf or pictures you want to hang? Get out the hammer! Believe me, it's nice to focus on a room (or maybe a couple of rooms) a week!
So, here's my list (not including my normal weekly list... I won't be crossing them off online this week anyway).
To Do's Jan 10-16.
Focus, bathrooms and laundry
- launder bath mats and shower curtain (use baking soda)
- put up glass bathroom shelf
- dust baseboards and trim in both rooms
- wipe down the walls
- plan out any bathroom storage I wish to put up eventually
- scrub tub
- scrub sinks (including faucets)
- scrub toilets (inside, outside, around floor)
- extra dusting in the bathrooms
- dusting in the laundry room
- clear out empty laundry/bathroom containers
- clean drawers
- clean registers
- sweep/vacuum laundry area
- put toothbrush holders/cups into dishwasher
- clean bathroom garbage cans
There you have it. My list for next week. Perhaps this will help you create your own!
I also wish to write out the 101 goals I want to focus on this month. If I don't write them down, I tend to forget about them, so here they are (I won't put the numbers in, because I didn't write them in that way... ha ha).
- finish 2008 historical farm analysis
- get stuff to organize (and organize) deep freeze
- finish and publish 2nd book
- put up kitchen curtains
- do a one week media fast (doing next week)
- work on cross stitch
- try to learn to knit something
- start playing ocarina more
I won't get them all done this month, but they are something I wish to focus on a little bit. I did finish the puzzle, which is on my list for the month, but I'll post on that later on. :)
About that media fast... I have been feeling that the TV and computer (more so the Internet) have been 'stealing' our time lately (my husband's and mine) from spending more with each other. I tried to remedy that a bit using the puzzle, but my hubs wasn't interested (and you can only really work on it when the munchkin is in bed). So, for one whole week we will not have these two things to distract us from time together, and time with God. I feel that by the time we go to bed, we don't spend enough time focusing on His word. We read it, we do the motions, but that seems to be all it is now. Motions. I don't like it one bit. So, hopefully we will get a 'rest' from staying away from our two biggest time hogs, and use that time more wisely. I've really enjoyed the other media fasts we've done in the past, and look forward to doing this one. I think we should make it a more regular thing. That said, I won't be online to read, comment, or post at all from the 11th to the 17th (maybe longer... depends on if I get online on Sunday or if I bother in the beginning of the following week). I'll miss you all, but it's time to do this already. I'm hoping to post at least once more before then though (I really don't want to post 14 days of 365 all at once anyway!).
Oh, and our computer? Working fine now. Turns out there were a LOT of tracking cookies (at least 30) that popped on the last time firefox was used. Deleted them all, and explorer worked fine immediately afterwards. Hmmm.
Anyway, good luck with next week's challenge! :)

Good luck with your list this week, including the media fast!
Unfortunately chaos would ensue in this household without the internet. Sigh. :-)
Maybe THAT is what is wrong with my firefox!
