Thankful Thursday

"Give Thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His love endures forever"
Psalm 136:1

So, today is Thursday. I've come to look forward to Thursdays now. Typing up what you are thankful for so others can see is such a great feeling. I need to remember to do this instead of complaining about something else.

So, today I had my doctor's appointment, and I have to say that I'm thankful for the Canadian medical system. I'm so thankful for my doctor. He works overtime so often so he can help his patients. Today he checked the baby's position again and was suprised by how low this little one is... but I'm not. I've felt the baby dropping a little every day for the last couple of days... and I thought he/she was low before! My doc also asked if I wanted to be checked for dilation or not, and gave me the pros and cons. Said he would do it today if I wished. He was already 1 hour backed up, and he still was considerate of me. I declined. I'm thankful God has made it possible for me to be patient and not need to know... it doesn't change when baby comes anyway, right? So, I'm thankful for my doctor, and the great appointment (and no, I didn't have to wait that hour. I was told in advance by the receptionist that it would be another hour and that if I wanted I could run any errands and come back... which I did!).

I am thankful for autumn. I love this season. I know it isn't quite autumn yet, the leaves are still up and haven't even changed color, but the weather is so nice. It's cooler and more comfortable, I can go for walks outside and not worry about mosquitoes, or sunstroke, and I don't know what it is about the air in late summer early autumn but it just smells so nice. Harvest is beautiful! I love seeing the fields all yellow and ripe for harvest, the tractors going back and forth as the farmers are out reaping the reward for their hard work throughout spring and summer, ready to take the feed/seed/grain back to their bins to sell and/or feed their livestock. Something about prepping for fall and winter just makes me feel all nostalgic too. I just love this season. Sweaters, apples, pumpkins, harvest, hay rides, cooler air, the scents and smells of baking, thanksgiving... Yes... I'm thankful for autumn.

I'm thankful for my Wii Fit... sounds silly but it's true. I LOVE graphs... and this game graphs everything! It helps me work on my balance, posture, strength, endurance, etc, and I think that will be great come delivery. Not only that, but it gives pointers on how to lose excess weight, how to be healthier, and how balance and posture are important. I'm a bit of a health nut (not too nutty though) so I'm thankful we got this game!

I didn't sleep well last night... but you know, I'm thankful for that as well. I got up with my hubby this morning at 5:30 and just spent those few precious minutes with him before the sun came up. It was wonderful. I think I want to do so more often. I've forgotten how lovely early mornings are, and I love them. I think I want to get up with him every morning, just for those few extra minutes together, and then maybe if I'm still that tired, go back to bed. I think God made mornings for us to spend with Him... they are so very peaceful.

Again... Thanks be to God for his love. He gives us so much that we so often take for granted. I love thinking about it all... it's amazing the things we realize we would miss if we didn't take that time out to give thanks to Him. I think that's why there are so many verses saying to give thanks to the Lord...

And I haven't even started on how thankful I am for the baby kittens, the food in our house, the meal plan I made, the time we've spent with friends this week, the baby gift I got from 3 of my aunties (a computer scrapbooking program... really nice... can't wait to have some fun with it), and so many other things! We are really blessed!
