So, my due date was yesterday, which is fine with me. Yup, no baby yet. He/she will come in their own good time I'm sure. Anyway, that leaves me with more time to do other things...
I've been working hard on all sorts of stuff, and some of it is depressing me. I was planning on putting ribbon on those wall panels... well I worked on them 3 hours yesterday and I just don't like it... at all. So I finally bought the ribbon I needed, and I don't even like how it looks (just pinning in place to start of course) so I worked 3 hours for nothing. I'm just going to leave them the way they are and have hubby put them up for me that way. Sigh. I started sewing the curtains yesterday too, and got one of two done. So, today I will work on the second one and then I'll have curtains for the baby room. I used a flat sheet from an old sheet set where the fitted one has pilled to the point of almost being non-existent in places. I'll be purchasing a new sheet set this week hopefully. The color of the old one works well with the color of the baby bedding, so I'm pretty happy with that. I got really depressed yesterday though when I was trying to sew and had the thing almost done, one more long stitch, and the machine froze up on me. Usually I can get it unstuck with minimal work, but not this time, the threads were stuck tight in the bobbin area. I took the presser foot table off to see if it was jammed in the feed, nope, and started working at the bobbin, now fully depressed and sobbing. Thankfully, hubby was in already and could see the problem and got it fixed in seconds (maybe I would have seen it too if I hadn't been crying my eyes out). So, I managed to finish the curtain with no more issues... thank goodness. So, today I should get the other one sewn.
I also got lots done in the baking department yesterday (for more info, see my cookbook page). Today I've been doing things as normal... I figure that's the best way to go about my day. I cleaned house, thoroughly cleaning the kitchen (yes, even the fridge, and I HATE cleaning the fridge), and I'm doing laundry. Over half done all of it already. I still have quite the list of things I wish to accomplish yet, but we'll see how it goes. Part of me wishes to do nothing but watch movies and go for walks and sit on the computer. Sigh. I still need to mow lawn too... it's been 2 1/2 weeks.
Here's some grossness for you... I really want to pressure wash the house again. Why? Some bird decided to commit suicide by ramming itself into a window. That happens often enough, but this is the first time remnants of that bird have remained ON the window. It's too high for me to reach outside without a ladder (and I am not climbing one of those with this belly), and it happens to be our dining room window. Blech. So, the blind has been down since the incident and I await the day I can pull the pressure washer out again and get rid of that gunk. I do NOT want it there over all winter!
Anyway, that's my rather long boring average post about my life in general. I do have some really sweet news though! A friend of mine from the USA sent me a baby gift through the mail! It's so cute! Two gowns (0-3months) in greens and yellows (one says "I love my mommy" on it) and two pair matching socks, and a set of 2 soothers. So cute! I also had another friend borrow us some baby floor toys and a bassinet, as well as a 'portable' baby swing. So, now I have a bassinet in our room! Another friend of ours and her mom made me 4 recieving blankets, which they washed for me beforehand and everything! They are so cute! One has cows and chickens on it (hee hee, that's my fave), and there's a yellow one with sleeping bears, a green one with colored leaves, and a cowboy/cowgirl one. All very cute! People are so kind! I've been feeling so blessed with the kindness of those around us!
So, I guess this has been a great week for me overall! I just need to remember to focus on positive things. Oh, and baby can bake a little longer if they need to (smile).

This must be such an anxious time for you, waiting for the arrival of your little one. It sounds like you have been extremely productive, though. All the best for the next few days!
oh dear...sounds like you are nesting! I think it is a sign the baby is due any time now!
Hi Sab! I agree that it sounds like you're nesting and that's a good thing. My first went 2 weeks to the day overdue which only served to tell me that the docs can only give us their best guess. I was going nuts, though, my baby was HUGE for how short my body is, and the only thing that saved me was keeping busy. I remember I went to a lot of movies during the day those 2 weeks because I figured it'd be a while before I had the chance again! Hey, how are we gonna know when it's time? Your hubster gonna post a post or something?
If I don't post something, I'll get hubby to! He'll probably be so excited he'll want to tell everyone anyway, lol!
