Project 365

I saw something called Project 365 over at Cafe Chick's blog and thought... this looks interesting! Alright, I'll do it (or at least try... I usually take my camera everywhere, so it can't be too hard, right?). I won't post every day, but I'll post my pics anyway!

I started on June 1st, so, here we go!

June 1: We decided to enjoy the weather and have a picnic in our backyard... with Tim Hortens food we purchased from town because we still didn't have anything in the house and desperately needed to go shopping (did I mention I clean out the house of perishables before we go on a trip? Yeah... here's proof)

June 2: I went on a cleaning frenzy. That... sorta happens every once-in-awhile. Anyway, I have this fountain that hasn't been running in years... because I never bothered to put water in it (what good is a fountain without water? I have no clue). I dusted the entire thing, cleaning the rocks and all, and put filtered water in and decided to plug it in to see if it still worked... Yup. Now to keep my daughter away from it...

June 3: My mother-in-law has such beautiful gardens, and all the tulips and daffodils are blooming! She really wanted a picture of my lil girl in front of the flowers, so we took a bunch. Here she's laughing at her grandma. Isn't she the cutest!? Today I actually did some yard work too! I love flowers!

That's it for the first installation of project 365. Thanks Cafe Chick for the idea!

Wow - it's great to see some lovely family pics starting off your Project 365! I've just posted my 5th pic; I'm getting better at taking my camera places but not always bold enough to take some of the photos I'd like to, so I try to sneak up to my subject inconspicuously and hope for the best. I currently have road workers outside my house and hesitantly took some shots of them. It's not a scene I see every day, but somehow I felt I needed to ask their permission first ... I didn't; instead I sneaked out onto my balcony madly firing pics before creeping back inside again! (I know, I'm silly.)

Beautiful pics! I usually have my camera with me but I'm life Cafe Chick there, not quite bold enough to pull over to the side of the road to take a picture of the beautiful sunset, the sunflower growing along the road, the old barns or town hall, etc.... all those things i absolutely LOVE but fear others will think I'm crazy stopping beside the road to photograph them.

I love that fountain! How beautiful!

This is also a great idea! On my 101 in 1001, I have a goal of taking a picture every day for a month (I think that's what it says anyway) so we'll see how that goes. It's going to be a lot easier now that I have a camera phone!

(PS: Your daughter gets cuter every day. Seriously!)

I get people thinking I'm crazy all the time because I LOVE my camera and will take pics of just about everything and anything, without caring about how it looks. I grew up in a family where our fingers were always ready to click that camera!

Project 365 started with Creating Keepsakes magazine. They created a scrapbooking kit for 2009 which you could order from them for which you take a picture for every day of the year. Unfortunately they didn't make enough kits so I couldn't get one but I made up my own (it's a photo album style). I have been taking a picture a day every day this year so far and have only missed a few days! Here's some links. http://www.creatingkeepsakes.com/index.html
