Wooden Toys and Puzzles

Toy Tractor

Well, right now I'm lazy and do not wish to scan my pattern. This project really isn't all that hard to make... just very time consuming considering all the sanding. I finished it using mineral oil from the baby department in the store. All you really need is a few wood scraps and a lot of time. And wheels. I bought six 1inch wheels, and two 2 1/2inch wheels. The quarter inch dowel needs to be sanded a bit for the smaller wheels, and the bigger wheels would be better off with a larger dowel, but I didn't wish to spend even more money on it. I made do with what I had and filled the sucker with lots of glue (hot glue works great), using toothpicks arranged in a triangle shape between the tire and the tractor as spacers until the glue dried. Worked great.

If you want a more detailed direction as to how to make this thing... I guess you'll have to tell me in the comments. Otherwise, maybe I'll make a book and put this thing in there! Maybe.

Toy Car

It's quite the nice toy! I used 1.5 inch wheels with a 1/4 inch dowel for this one.

Nail Puzzle

I found this at Alice's Workshop. I changed it, of course, but just by adding the wood burning. The solution to the puzzle can be found on her site as well.
