Belly Dance Continued

So, I've been looking around for things I can use for my costumes, and I found a HUGE piece of somewhat sheer black fabric at the thrift store for $3.50.  It's probably enough to make a circle skirt... maybe even one that is actually 1.5-2 full circles.  Yes... it's HUGE.  So, my Esmerelda costume won't quite be the same.  Perhaps I can make a bright purple underskirt that you'll be able to see underneath the black.  I still want to do the shirt and corsette type top, though, although probably not in white now.  White and black looks too choir-ish (is that a word?).  I found some awesome purple fabric that is stretchy in both directions... although it's a pale purple instead of a royal purple.  I think I may try to make a top from that.  I found a bunch of bracelets and hoop earrings from mcc as well.  Perfect!

I also bought a bra to recover for the top of the 'Midna' esque costume.  I've decided to make a top that has extra fabric running down the sides and back, but my belly will be exposed (mostly).  I think I'll add fringes and such so my belly isn't as exposed.  And I want to make the skirt.  Although I'll be wearing a pair of workout shorts underneath or something, and of course there will be the glitzy jingly belt over it.  I just love the pattern on her skirt.  I still want to make the whole costume eventually for cosplay...

I just can't believe all the stuff I got from mcc yesturday... the black fabric, purple fabric, some gingham (I want to make it into a little table cloth and napkin 'set' for M), rubber boots for M, 2 pair shoes for Bram, a bunch of bracelets, earrings, a bra... all for under $8!  Now I need to find sequins, a pattern for Esmerelda's shirt (or maybe, if I'm lucky, one that's similar), a 'corsette', and more black fabric (yes, more... not sheer).
