Well, I've been doing some research in making my costumes for the dances we are doing in June. I need an Egyptian style costume for the drum solo piece, and a gypsy style for the gypsy piece later on. Here are some ideas...
I really love Midna's costume from Twilight princess, and it has a belly dance feel to it. If I play it right, I could make it an Egyptian style belly dance costume... I just need to add pieces to it to glitz it up a bit.
Here is the costume... I think I would like to make the whole thing for a later cosplay costume, but add other glitzy pieces, and remove the cape/headdress for the dance itself... would be too much for me... something like this below... as in the belt over the skirt, and similar for a bra piece... something that would work overtop but not attached so I could make the costume work without the 'glitz' as well.
And as for the gypsy style... first thing I thought of was this...
Or maybe her dance costume... although I think part of me likes the 'everyday' one better.
What do you think? I am not so sure right now how this will all work out. I think I need to get 'second skin' for the Midna based costume so I can 'paint' (or maybe sew actual fabric) over it in the right places... I don't know. I watched a tutorial on that. As for Esmeralda... I think a white gypsy top, purple circle skirt, and a dark blue 'corset' would work. I'm thinking of visiting the local mcc to see what I can find in terms of fabric and clothes.
What would you like to see? What do you think would work? I'd love some feedback!

This is such a great site! I like the way you set this up! Great content! Thanks for sharing this!...Daniel
i LOVE that skirt.
awesome!
Not sure about the first one, but I love the gypsy outfit (the 'everyday' one). Can't wait to see what you'll come up with!
Well I love all things glitzy. I am just impressed you are going to don this!!!
How creative! I personally think it would be awesome to have a Midna costume (but I don't have the tummy for it). I like both ideas. I say go for it! Although we better get to see a picture of YOU in it when you're done. Have fun!
