So, I noticed I forgot to update my 101 list... I've done a lot yet again. I love checking things off (I know you do too... admit it... come on... we'll all go to a listmaker's anonymous group meeting together so we can check that off too).
#2: Start Composting
I don't officially have a composter, but this challenge was more for me to reduce the trash we remove from our house than anything else, and I've been successful in maintaining this for over a month now. We have a pail for all produce garbage, and when it gets full it gets dumped on the pile outside. The pile is full of straw and manure that later gets composted... but not in the 'official' way. It does make it's way onto our gardens a year later, however, so that counts, right? I'm not interested in paying a fortune for a composter, and the idea of worms in a pail in my house... not something I'm too keen on... especially with this option at my disposal!
#26: Start an RESP
We did it! I can't remember the date, but it was done before our trip anyway. Now my little girl has a family RESP with her name in it! If she doesn't use it and we have other kids, they could use it and that money is still useful. Now to figure out how much to put in on a regular basis (nice thing is that the government puts in $500 up front just for creating the RESP! If for whatever reason it isn't used, they get their money back, otherwise... FREE MONEY! What've we got to lose?)
With that, all my financial goals are accomplished already!
#65: Plant hedge around yard
I'm not sure if I should check this off as complete or not, but I did plant the trees around the majority of the open section of yard (I don't know if I want to do the WHOLE thing since it would be nice to get equipment on the yard if needed). The worst part, the part I really wanted, is done. Although of the 14-16 trees I planted, it looks like 3 didn't make it. No buds on them yet. The others have little leaves starting already though! Now to make sure they stay alive! Sigh... I'm looking forward to the chokecherry blossoms in the years to come (yeah... it'll be awhile).
That's all for now! I almost did #8, Picnic in a park, but technically we just picnicked in our back yard, so we'll have to do a park sometime! Which is good... sometimes I don't want to check something off yet because I know it can be better (hahaha).

We have started composting food waste recently (our flatmate's initiative) as we don't have a waste disposal unit. I'm surprised how full our bin is already, but it's going to take a loooooong time to break down and decompose into something we can eventually use in our garden. And then there are the fruit flies which hang around the bin constantly ...
Don't you just love the 101 in 1001? I'm so glad I finally started mine!
(And yes, I think your composting counts!)
